Spring Arts Walk at the Eagles - by Trustee Donna Pallo-Perez
Olympia Arts Walk is Friday April 27th and Saturday, April 28th. You are invited to attend an Open House, Friday evening which includes a public dance party on the 3rd floor in the "Doc Becker" Studio. On Saturday the Grand Ballroom will be packed with a stunning array of locally handmade craft items. Dance entertainment and refreshments will be provided. Donations will benefit Olympia's domestic violence shelter, Safeplace.
Friday's scheduled activities in the "Doc Becker" Studio include: 6pm "Core Strengthening" taught by The Evergreen State College Ballet professor and Eagle member, Jehrin Alexandria - this is a fantastic, at your own pace, experience for toning your torso to achieve a healthy, proportionate and "sculpted" shape!
8pm Beverlee Boe, 10 year supporter of the Olympia Tap Cats, will read from her book ZACHARY PUPPY, Her stories charm the child in us all.
A Dance Party theme is the focus of the Open House with refreshments..You are invited to bring your favorite music so we can dance, dance , dance together! Whether you dance or listen, you are invited to enjoy the room's newest addition; a sound system donated by Brother Brent Barber. It can accommodate CD's and MP3 players.Flamenco dancers will be ready to lead a festival style "Sevillanas" and "Tientos". Poetry will be read. A song may be sung.Tap students will tap! The evening is sure to delight your inner dancer and encourage your spirit of spontaneous creativity!!
Saturday's activities in the Grand Ballroom feature a Crafts Fair from 11am to 3pm, sponsored by the Olympia Etsy Team. These local crafters have banded together to sell nationally online. Our friend, Lydia Love, who's thriving new organic chocolate making business name is CHAKRALAT, assisted in recruiting 15 other crafters. Merchandise spans from note cards, soaps and candles to "geeky" accessories, quilts and metal mail jewelry. These items are only part of the wonderful variety for you to see.
Saturday's dance entertainment line-up is: 11:15am FLAMENCO FURY directed by D. Pallo-Perez 11:50am SALSA demonstration & lesson with Stephanie Perceful 12:30pm Swing & Lindy Charleston lesson with Donna 12:50pm STUDIO ONE, modern & lyrical youth dances directed by Samantha Williams and Jehrin Alexandria 1:10pm Troupe O'Wa, middle eastern dance directed by Tess Fox 1:30pm Comerford School of Irish Dance, youth & adult performers 2:10pm "Beats Euphorium" with WOLF & Meli Pea: a variety of dance from Flamenco to Hip Hop & Bellydance to Hula.
It will be a fantastic Arts Walk at your Aerie.Share in the celebration. Volunteers are needed to welcome the public at the door, collect donations & present membership information.Your support is appreciated! I look forward to seeing you then!!

New Applicants Initiation Ceremony Information - Membership Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Initiation ceremonies are conducted on the third Tuesday. All applicants need to attend an initiation ceremony before becoming a member of the Olympia Eagles. Applicants have six months to participate in the initiation ceremony. After six month the applicant will need to reapply.
Membership Incentive Weekly Drawing - Each week members have an opportunity to win big cash by participating in the membership incentive drawing. To participate, just visit the club on Monday thru Saturday, register and pay $1.00. The weekly drawing is held each Sunday at 5 pm. If you are present you win the entire pot, if you are not present you win half the pot. If you don't participate and your name is drawn, you are not eligible to win.
